Posturology Education

Why Posturology?
Recent work in neuroscience shows us that not only our internal ear, but also the feet, eyes, skin, and bite position us in space. They are the 4 key sensory receptors that are responsible for posture. If there is a defect in one or more of these systems, the body adapts to the faulty signals it’s receiving, and thereby becomes pathologically imbalanced. The aim of Posturology is to correct errors at these receptor sites, returning the body to proper equilibrium.

How can Posturology help you?
Posturology teaches the health care professional how to evaluate and treat these receptors to improve posture, increase stability and eliminate pain. Because Posturology is not merely a symptomatic treatment but addresses the etiology behind many common injuries and conditions, it can be applied as a stand- alone or a complementary therapy.
Posturology is for more than just pain management, it can help you increase the performance of your athletes, simply by creating optimal alignment of their structure. Posturology can enrich your profession and benefit your patients and clients by improving the outcome of their treatment.

What: This is a two-day Workshop on the Introduction of the Postural System

When: March 17-18, 2012

• Location: The New Yorker Hotel 481 8th corner of 34th avenue

Who: All Athletes, Strength Coaches, Team Therapists and Coaches, Golf Instructors, Personal Trainers, Pilates and Yoga Instructors. Health Care Practitioners: Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, Rehabilitation Professionals, Dentists, and Medical Doctors.

Will also be mentioned quantifiable methods used to measure postural corrections. As well, an emphasis on the development of movement patterns and their influence on function at adult age makes up an important part of the teachings. All registration are subject to the terms and conditions of the workshops.
